Running a business is a challenge. You may think that everything will improve next week or next month, but that’s not always the case. In fact, when you overcome one challenge, another one usually appears. That’s just how it is.

But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s how we deal with these unexpected events that makes us resilient and successful. Planning is important, but it’s also important to be adaptable.

Take it from someone who knows. When faced with financial and cultural challenges at my first board position, our team focused on those issues and eventually achieved profitability and an engaged workforce. But then, we faced a fuel strike, driver shortages, and an economic downturn. These were just normal business challenges.
